GeoField Pro

Import a QGIS or ArcGIS GeoPDF to begin.

No map loaded Use Import GeoPDF for a QGIS or ArcGIS geospatial PDF.

Export

GeoJSON includes every pin and every recorded track point. GPX includes georeferenced pins as waypoints and the GPS track as a track segment. CSV includes pins and raw track fixes with separate Excel-ready local date and time columns.

Go to waypoint

Select a georeferenced pin to navigate back to it. The app will show distance, true bearing, GPS accuracy, and a compass rose: N rotates to true north and the arrow points to the waypoint. Use Minimise in the navigation panel when you only want the compass and arrow visible.

Import PDF points

Scan the loaded PDF for QGIS point layers and convert selected points into app pins/waypoints.

No scan has run yet.

Start tracking

Choose whether the map should automatically centre on the blue locator dot while the track is recording. You can also toggle this any time with Follow.

Clear

Select exactly what should be removed from this device. Pins and tracks are saved against the imported map. Clearing Map unloads the current map and calibration; saved pins/tracks for that map are only deleted if their checkboxes are also selected.

Using the app

  1. In QGIS, export with Create Geospatial PDF. In ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap, export PDF with map georeference information enabled.
  2. Android installation: host this folder using Cloudflare Pages (HTTPS); open the site in Chrome, then tap the Chrome menu (⋮) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. If an Install app button appears at the top of GeoField, you can use that instead.
  3. Tap Import GeoPDF. The app renders the PDF locally, reads the embedded control points, fingerprints the PDF, and stores the current project in IndexedDB.
  4. Pins and tracks are remembered per map. If you import another map and later import the first PDF again, its saved pins/tracks are restored automatically on the same device/browser.
  5. Tap Locate for a one-time centre on your GPS position, or Follow to keep the map centred as GPS updates arrive.
  6. Tap GPS pin to pin your device location, Crosshair pin to place a pin at the centre crosshair, or long-press the map to add a pin somewhere else. Use Crosshair pin over a visible PDF point if you want to turn that map point into a selectable app waypoint. Use Remove pin to tap and delete an existing app pin.
  7. Tap Go to and select a georeferenced pin to navigate back to it. The navigation panel shows distance, true bearing, GPS accuracy, and a compass rose. Use Minimise to collapse the panel to the compass and arrow, then Expand when you need the distance and other details. When browser compass data is available, N rotates to true north and the arrow points toward the selected waypoint; otherwise it falls back to a north-up bearing display.
  8. Use Start track while the app is open and visible to record your path. Choose Track + follow if you want the map to auto-centre during recording, or toggle Follow at any time.
  9. Use Clear to choose whether to clear pins, tracks, the active map, or any combination. To permanently remove pins/tracks saved for the current map, select those checkboxes before clearing.

Android/iOS GPS note: This is a web app: track recording is foreground-only and can stop or pause when the screen locks, the app is hidden, or the operating system suspends it. For the most reliable result, keep GeoField visible, use Keep awake, and export important data regularly. Do not rely on it as a safety-critical navigation or emergency tracker.

Privacy: imported maps, pins and tracks are processed and saved in this device's browser storage; this build does not upload them. Hosting providers can still see ordinary visits to the site. Clearing Chrome/site storage or changing site origin may erase local projects. Export regularly.
